Hi,

I was wondering if I might be able to get some help.

I am a 35 year British expat living in Amsterdam and interested in buying a 2017+ Mustang 2.3 Ecoboost.

I was advised to look on mobile.de where the prices are around 25,000 Euro.

Could I get any further advice from you Mustang educated people as to the best place to buy the car and get it insured etc?

What are the normal costs for running the car in the Netherlands ie, Road Tax, Insurance and service costs?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Tax: https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/ ... -berekenen
Insurance: https://www.hoyhoy.nl/autoverzekering/ or https://www.independer.nl/autoverzekering/intro.aspx
Just enter the plate number from a dutch 2017+ mustang that's for sale

Also when importing a car from Germany be prepared to pay a hefty BPM-tax

Also Centraal Beheer is a good insurance company that a lot of Mustang drivers use.

Hey Alex,

First thing you need to find out is if you as an expat are eligible for tax exemptions. If you are for example exempt from registration tax (BPM) on cars then I would strongly advise you to buy a car in Germany. Any car that has a Dutch registration already has this tax included in its price, so you would be paying way too much. In Germany they don't have this kind of tax, so you pay the net value of the car, basically like you would in the UK. Also when it's an EU spec car (big mirrors, clear tail lights) registration in the Netherlands is really easy.
