Mijn 3.8 V 6 van 96 verliest koelvloeistof.
Na een grondige zoektocht blijkt het tussen de aansluiting van het waterpomphuis en het blok vandaan te komen.
Wat te doen?
Zit hier een pakking tussen?
Is deze simpel te vervangen?
Heeft iemand tips of misschien wel een handleiding hoe dit te doen?
Ben wel handig maar geen monteur.

Vloeibare pakking er tussen,kan een goede oplossing zijn
is bij elke automaterialen zaak wel te krijgen.

1) Waterpump failure can cause overheating and serious damage to the engine. There are three ways to check the operation of the waterpump while it is installed on the engine. If any one of the following checks indicates waterpump problems, it should be replaced immidiatly.
2) A seal protects the waterpump impeller shaft bearing from contamination by engine coolant. If this seal fails, a weep hole in the waterpump snout will leak coolant:
(An inspection mirror can be used to look at the underside of the pump if the hole ins't on top. If the weep hole is leaking, shaft bearing failure will follow. Replace the waterpump immidiatly Note A small amount of gray discoloration is normal. A wet area or heavy brown deposits indicate the pump seal has failed.)
3) Besides conamination by coolant after a seal failure, the waterpump impeller shaft bearing can also prematurely wear out. If a noise is coming from the waterpump during engineoperation, the shaft bearing has failed. Replace the pump immidiatly. Note Do not confuse drivebelt noise with bearing noise. Loose or glazed drivebelts may emit a high-pitches squealing noise.
4) To identify excessive bearing wear before the bearing actually fails, grasp the waterpump pulley (with drivebelt removed) and try to force it up-and-down or from side-to-side. If the pulley can be moved wither horizontally or verticallym the bearing is nearing theendi of it's servicelife. Replace the waterpump.
De 4 bouten waarover Gt'er spreekt lijken alleen van toepassing te zijn op de 4.6 motoren, getuige een illustratie in de manual.Waterpump removal:

1 ) Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, and wait until the engine is completely cool.
2 ) With the engine cold, drain the cooling system (see chapter 1)
3 ) Remove the fan shroud and the fan assembly (see section 4)
4 ) Remove the drivebelt(s) (see chapter 1) and remove the waterpump pulley. Note It's helpful to loosen the pulley bolts/nuts while the belt is still in place. It helps hold the pully from turning.
5 ) On 3.8 V6 engines, remove the power steering pump pulley (see chapter 10) and remove the brace from the waterpump to the powersteering pump.
6 ) Gaat over de A/C met een 5.0 motor. Lijkt me niet van toepassing op deze situatie.
7 ) Remove any accessory brackets that attach to the waterpump.
8 ) Remove the lower radiator hose, the heater hose and the by-pass hose from the waterpump.
9 ) Remove the waterpump retaining bolts and remove the waterpump. On 3.8 engines take note of the installed positions of the various length bolts and studs.
Specifiek over pakkingen en/of rubberen ringen word niet gesproken in combinatie met de 3.8 motoren. Lijkt me echter dat die er dus wel in zouden moeten zitten.Waterpump installation:

1 ) Before installation, remove and clean all gasket or sealant material from the waterpump, cylinder front cover, or cylinder block.
2 ) On 4.6 engines, inspect the O-ring and sealing surface of the waterpump housing in the block for dirt and/or debris. Clean thoroughly before assembly.
3 ) On 5.0 engines, position new gaskets on the waterpump and coat them on both sides with RTV sealant. On 4.6 engines, lubricate a new O-ring seal with clean antifreeze and install it to the watepump. On 3.8 engines, coat the threads of the lower right bolt of the right water passage with sealant before installation.
4 ) Install the watepump and tighten the bolts to the torque listen in this chapters specifications. (V6 engine Waterpump: Nuts: 53 to 71 in-lbs, Bolts: 15 to 22. Waterpump Pully to hub: 15 to 21.)
5 ) Gaat over 5.0 motoren. Niet van toepassing hier.
6 ) On 3.8 engines, install the lower radiator hose, heater hose and by-pass hose to the watepump. Replace the hose clamps with new ones if nessecary.
7 ) Install the remaining components to the waterpump and engine in the reverse order of the removal.
8 ) Fill the cooling system with proper coolant mixture
9) Start the engine, and make sure there are no leak. Check the level during the first few wekes of operation to ensure there are no leaks and that the level in the system is stable.
